McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore is a multi-practice Texas law firm with offices in Austin and Houston. They are one of the largest law firms headquartered in Austin. The growing need for attorneys and staff to remain connected out of the office and the existing, aging phone system demanded an upgrade.

GCS assessed McGinnis’ requirements, considered the firm’s budget, and technology requirements. Based on findings from the assessment, the team proposed an Avaya IP Office that utilized VoIP, digital and analog communications.

Our Solution

How do almost 60 attorneys provide their phone requirements without interfering with billable activity? GCS developed a simple questionnaire that required only a few minutes for the attorney to specify how to configure their phone routing.

Replacing a phone system for an organization like McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore is complex and risky. The GCS project management team tracked project schedule, resources, and risks carefully. Proactive communication integrated the firm’s internal resources with GCS to ensure there were no lapses in any phase of the project.

The final element in a successful deployment is training. McGinnis and GCS partnered to deliver extensive training. GCS made training a priority by:

  • Provide all staff with before and after sessions
  • “One-on-One” training sessions for receptionists
  • Post-install technical administrative training for firm’s technical staff
